Walden University EDUC 6145 Week 5 - Web Resources

Web Resource 1: Project Calculator.  https://elearningart.com/development-calculator/ eLearning Art (2024) has a project calculator for instructional design. The calculator has 4 steps:  1: Course Length 2: Development Time   3: Development Cost   4: Summary      The operator can enter different variables to determine cost outputs and time demands for the instructional program project. The only problem is it uses its own ratio of development time per minute of instructional time provided. These numbers are quite large and increase cost estimates. The value of the calculator is not to use the calculator for an actual project but a way to stop people from thinking for each hour of instruction provided only one hour of development time or 2 is needed. There is no perfect ratio of development time to instructional time output/delivered but the quality can be affected if less development time is used than needed . Walden University EDUC 6145 Week 4 - Resources

Resource 1. DPG Learn  https://dpglearn.co.uk/blog/project-management/the-best-8-project-management-blogs-you-should-be-following/ Pro.  DPG Learn listed 8 Blogs that a project manager should be following. Even though some of the ranked blogs are not as sophisticated or valuable as others some are very valuable. For example:  Blog 3 Ganttic.com has a list of specific industry blogs to choose from such as engineering or creative design or construction to name a few. The list helps isolate the field a instructional designed actin as a project manager would like to focus on.  Con.  Unfortunately some blogs are hidden advertisements for software programs or consulting services. Such as Blog 8 Project Management.com which requires a membership fee of $189 to access project management templates after offering "free" templates that are not sufficiently general to help most project managers.   Blog 1.  https://www.projectmanager.com/blog Blog 2.  ht...

Walden University EDUC 6145 Week 3 - Assignment

Interpretation      My first impression of the email is the text was too long and confusing. I wanted the writer to ask if I had the data available not make me review multiple words involving multiple issues in a criss cross fashion. The second modality of a phone call audio message was very nice because the voice was pleasant and you could listen quickly as the person moved from one point to the other. (Had the voice been unpleasant I would have had a different reaction and interpretation) The final modality of video with a live person was two fold. Was the modality a live face to face meeting or a video of a person talking to me about an issue? If a person was live standing next to my cubicle I would enjoy the communication. Listen attentively, take the matter seriously and have the ability to ask questions or make comments quickly. But if a video only is involved my position is the video was exclusive to create and send for such a simple message. Plus a video of a pers...

Walden University - EDUC 6145 Week 2 - Post Mortem Review

Background While serving in the United States Navy I was assigned for 6 months to do maintenance on fire fighting and safety equipment for my division. The position is titled Damage Control Petty Officer.  The position is rotated between junior enlisted people during the year. The work entails making sure doors on board the ship are watertight, battle lanterns have fresh batteries, fire fighting stations are inspected for discrepancies, and all lights in passageways (hallways) leading directly to outside the ship are turned from white lights to red lights at sunset. The lights are changed in color so the white light does not give the position of the ship away at night when a door leading to an outdoor deck is opened while at sea. Events  The number of pieces of equipment were outside the ability of a single person to work on. I complained to the Division Office. The office assigned me to train everyone in the division to do the work so at any time the work was outside my abili...
